UPDATED 9/7/18: As is often the case, solicitations are submitted months before the comics release and thus subject to change in the time before launch. While Jamal Peppers was initially cited as the interior artist, it was actually done by Tracy Yardley. However Jamal did illustrate the B Cover. It is unknown whether there was a mistake, or the artists were changed for some reason.
A solicitation for May’s issue #5 is now out! After Sonic and friends clean up the rogue pockets of remaining badniks left in the wake of Eggman’s latest defeat, one might wonder what exactly happened to the nefarious doctor? Well, after April’s super fast celebration, May’s issue will delve into what happened to Eggman and what he is up to next! Additionally, it was noted that the Chaotix will be making a guest appearance as well. It is unclear if they will be featured as a side story, or whether they might lend their detective skills in piecing together the fate of Eggman.
Starting this issue, Sonic will be releasing on a monthly schedule with a rotating art team. As expected, Ian Flynn will be writing with Jamal Peppers doing his first interior work on the book as well as illustrating the main cover. The B cover will be illustrated by Kieran Gates, and a third 10 issue incentive cover will once again be done by Nathalie Fourdraine. It will hit stores on the last week of May on the 30th!
